So I’ve been on this weird search on the most nature thing ever and its flowers. I dedicated last few blogs on them and in the journey to discover more about them, I found this.
I’m aware of the term itself, sure. But i didn’t understand what it really does and what it really means. Alas, another blog on my current obsession.
So, Aromatherapy is a holistic healing treatment that uses natural plant extracts to promote health and well-being or to lame it down for you guys, it’s a therapy done with the help of essential oils.
Aromatherapy uses aromatic essential oils medicinally to improve the health of the body, mind, and spirit. It enhances both physical and emotional health.
Aromatherapy is thought of as both an art and a science.
Its nothing that was discovered yesterday. Humans have used aromatherapy for thousands of years. Ancient cultures in China, India, Egypt, and elsewhere incorporated aromatic plant components in resins, balms, and oils. These natural substances were used for medical and religious purposes. They were known to have both physical and psychological benefits.
How does it work you ask,
Its quite easy to understand how Aromatherapy works. It is through the sense of smell and skin absorption using products such as these:
- aromatic spritzers
- bathing salts
- body oils, creams, or lotions for massage or topical application
- facial steamers
- hot and cold compresses
- clay masks
This seems like the easiest therapy to be in to be honest.
There are nearly one hundred types of essential oils available. Generally, people use the most popular oils.Each essential oil has an array of unique healing properties, uses, and effects. Combining essential oils to create a synergistic blend creates even more benefits.
